Quantitative Analyst

Reporting to: Head of Pricing

Role Overview: Nimble Group is a specialist financial services firm that provides credit management solutions to established credit grantors across the banking, retailer, and service-providing industries.

Location: Woodstock, Cape Town

Minimum Requirements:

  • Honours degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Actuarial Science, Financial Risk Management, Investments, Statistics, Mathematics or similar)
  • 2 + years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of SQL programming language
  • Python knowledge will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with a wide range of data to accurately price various credit portfolios ranging across different products, sectors and jurisdictions.
  • Present proposed pricing and associated risks to the senior team of executives for various governance approvals (EXCO, Investment Committee and Board of Directors).
  • Set required benchmarks for acquired assets.
  • Monitor and report on investment performance.
  • Back-test pricing models.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to enhance and refine existing pricing models and build new pricing models for different asset classes and new markets.

Competencies / skills

  • Knowledge of forecasting and various predictive-analytics techniques (eg. machine learning).
  • Analysing large datasets.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong inter-personnel and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, analytically minded and inquisitive.
  • Able to work in a high-performance deadline driven team.

Working Hours:

You will be required to work a maximum of 45 hours per week.
